In carrying out individual dose control, the recording and retention of individual dose data is legally obligatory. The amount of this data is increasing year by year, to the degree that it has now become a burden on health physicists.

With the objective of reducing this burden and thereby enhancing the productivity of health physicists, in 1990, Chiyoda Technol Corporation developed “ACE GEAR V,” an MS-DOS-based individual dose control system. Since then, it has provided this system, under the brand name, Ace Series, to a very broad range of clients.

“ACE GEAR V3” has the following outstanding features:

In addition to the functions of “personal information management,” “individual dose control,” “physical examination control,” “education and training management,”

and “creation of statistical data,” the system is capable of outputting continuous forms based on the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s Ordinance on Prevention of Ionizing Radiation Hazards.

This allows forms, which formerly had to be prepared manually, to be prepared automatically, thereby achieving significant [improvements in speed, efficiency and accuracy][rationalization].

Our ACE2000 is an intranet type of comprehensive individual dose management system designed for organizations such as universities where there are many personnel involved. The basic concept of the ACE2000 is to improve the management quality of individual dose for the manager of the whole facility, and to improve the administrative efficiency of the individual dose for the radiation controller in their respective sections.

The ACE2000 offers the following features:

•An “Intranet type system”: An intranet type of system which utilizes a browser, is employed to effectively use the Internet. Conventional Windows machines, as well as Macintosh units can run the system.

•“Compliance with the technology standards for electromagnetic storage": The system has fully complied with the technology standards of the “Standards to be secured when data is stored through electromagnetic methods” notified on April 24, 1998.

•"Preparation of forms in accordance with the intended uses": The data can be supplied in the HTML format and TEXT format, as well as in the PDF format for forms that might cause problems from the view of preventing the falsification of data, if they are output in the TEXT format.



•"Network security”: An encrypted communication protocol SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is used to secure security on the network, including access prevention by designating URLs which do not leave data within the browser cache.

 Our “ACE2000” will bring further improved efficiency to your centralized data control, as well as your daily office management.

The ACE2000 system may be used as a PC client independent from the platform both on Windows and Macintosh computers when a browser is used at the user interface.

The system can be operated with the browser installed in a similar way to the normal internet connection so that it is no longer necessary to master a specific operating method as in a conventional process application.


As the ACE2000 system is installed in a server, only programs on the server side need to be modified when some changes such as updating of applications are made in future. The system control is quite simple and easy for being maintenance-free on the client side.
