Our History

  • 1958
    Established a representative office (currently Ibaraki Office) in Tokai-mura (September)
  • 1967
    Established "Film Badge Center" in Nihonbashi (Edobashi), Chuo-ku, Tokyo and started external personal dose measuring service using "fluorescent glass dosimeters" (January)
  • 1972
    Oarai Reserch LaboratoryEstablished "Oarai Research Laboratory" in Oarai, Ibaraki
    Installed X-ray generators and Co-60 irradiators, and started operation of the standard radiation dose measurement/irradiation system (June)
  • 1979
    Completed the "Film Badge Full Automatic System (FAS)" that fully automates film development, concentration determination, dose assessment, form output, etc. in the film badge measurement operation (June)
  • 1985
    Enhanced various irradiation facilities for standard irradiation in the Oarai Research Laboratory and constructed new "Research Building" (May)
  • 1989
    • Established the Medical Equipment Supply Department for expansion of business into the medical device industry (April)
    • Concluded a general domestic agency contract on the after-loading radiotherapy device "microSelectron HDR" with Nucletron B.V. (the Netherlands) and started sales (April)
    • Established the "Monitoring Service System (MOS)" on the basis of the revision of laws related to radiation protection and started operation (April)
  • 1995
    Oarai Research Laboratory certified by the Japan Calibration Service System (business division: radiation) (December)
  • 1999
    Concluded a sales contract on radioisotopes and equipment with AEA Technology Plc (currently QSA Global Inc. [USA] etc.), and started sales (April)
  • 2000
    • Concluded a written agreement on the manufacturing and distribution of radioisotopes with the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (currently Japan Atomic Energy Agency) (March)

    • Started manufacturing and sales of radioisotopes (April)
    • Established Technol Dose Center in Oarai, Ibaraki to specialize in personal dose measurement service (April)
    • Radiation Monitoring CenterCompleted "Radiation Monitoring Center," which is a measuring facility using new-type glass dosimeters, in Oarai, Ibaraki (July)

  • 2001
    Relocated work environment measuring facilities from Tokyo to Oarai (July)
  • 2003
    • Concluded a general domestic agency contract on the mobile intraoperative irradiator "MOBETRON" with Intra Op Medical Corporation (USA) and started sales (January)
    • Purchased 15,310 land from the Japan Atomic Energy Agency and Oarai (February)
  • 2004
    • Concluded a general domestic agency contract on the head and neck stereotactic radiotherapy device "Cyber Knife II" with Accuray Incorporated (USA) (January), which was later changed to a domestic distributor contract in October 2009
    • Accomplished assembly/shipment of 10 million glass badges (February)
    • Accomplished dose determination of 10 million glass badges (August)
    • Concluded a general domestic agency contract on QA products for radiotherapy with Standard Imaging Inc. (USA) (October)
  • 2005
    Held a ceremony for the 5th anniversary of the Radiation Monitoring Center (July)
  • 2006
    • Concluded a sales contract on the "Glass Dosimeter Monitoring Service System" with the Institut de radioprotection et de sûreté nucléaire (IRSN), France (July)
    • Transferred personal dose measuring service from Technol Dose Center to Chiyoda Technol (July)
    • Accomplished assembly/shipment of 20 million glass badges (December)
  • 2007
    Accomplished dose determination of 20 million glass badges (October)
  • 2008
    • Treatment area of Accuray's stereotactic radiotherapy device "Cyber Knife II" expanded from the head and neck to the trunk (whole body) (with pharmaceutical approval) (June)
    • Started using a new system of customer information management for personal monitoring service (September)
  • 2009
    • Concluded a sales agency contract on glass dosimeters with the China Institute of Atomic Energy (March)
    • Accomplished assembly/shipment of 30 million glass badges (September)
  • 2010
    Accomplished dose determination of 30 million glass badges (September)
  • 2012
    Accomplished assembly/shipment of 40 million glass badges (April)
  • 2013
    • Oarai Onukidai FacilityCompleted "Oarai Onukidai Facility," which is a measuring facility using next-generation "glass dosimeters" (July)
